Ingredients
FOR TE MAC 'N' CHEESE:
- 1 packet KLFC Crispy Popcorn Chicken
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
FOR THE CRISPY TOPPING:
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
STEP 1: COOK THE PASTA
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
STEP 2: MAKE THE CHEESE SAUCE
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually add milk, whisking constantly, and cook until thickened (about 3-5 minutes).
- Reduce heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
STEP 3: ASSEMBLE THE MAC 'N' CHEESE
- Mix the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until well-coated. Transfer to a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
STEP 4: ADD THE POPCORN CHICKEN
- Evenly distribute KLFC Popcorn Chicken on top of the mac 'n' cheese.
STEP 5: PREPARE THE CRISPY TOPPING
- In a small bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the mixture over the popcorn chicken and mac 'n' cheese.
STEP 6: BAKE
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the dish for 10-12 minutes, or until the topping is golden and crispy.
STEP 7: SERVE
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm for a hearty and indulgent meal.
